USPH is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – Corporate Accounting to join our growing company. The Accounting Manager’s primary responsibility is to support Corporate Accounting in the month-end close process and ensure that partnership equity transactions are properly accounted for. The role partners with areas across the business, including partners & directors of clinics and/or partnerships, revenue cycle management team, accounts payable, cash management, operations accounting, IT, and executive management.

The role is based at our corporate headquarters in West Houston, TX (fully remote candidates are not being considered, we do offer a hybrid environment).

Job Duties:

  • Support month-end close activities, including, review of consolidated revenues, expenses and balance sheet accounts and book necessary adjusting journal entries, as needed;
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts (including, but not limited to, accounts receivable, prepaids, other assets, accruals, rent-related, intercompany accounts, etc.);
  • Review financial, operational and metric trends (visits, net rate per visit, payroll rate per visit and margin rates) and review for reasonableness;
  • Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of consolidation worksheet;
  • Lead the monthly distribution process and ensure accuracy and completeness of equity distribution worksheets;
  • Review agreements for buy and sell of partnership interests and ensure proper accounting treatment;
  • Manage stock-based compensation transactions (using software portal), including monthly expensing;
  • Review transactions impacting goodwill and ensure proper accounting treatment;
  • Support the preparation of tax schedules in order to calculate quarterly and annual tax provision;
  • Prepare audit schedules, as needed;
  • Support M&A activity, including integration of clinics and/or partnerships into USPH;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred;
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience (prior public accounting experience a plus) in a corporate environment, ideally within organizations with multiple entities;
  • Partnership accounting and heavy M&A experience, a big plus;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong ERP systems experience;
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who is able to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders;
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional businesses, internal controls, and SOX compliance is preferred but not required;
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.

The Company’s clinics provide preventative and post-operative care for a variety of orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically-related injuries and rehabilitation of injured workers. In addition to owning and operating clinics, the Company manages about 41 physical therapy facilities for unaffiliated third parties, including hospitals and physician groups. The Company also has an industrial injury prevention business which provides onsite services for clients’ employees including injury prevention and rehabilitation, Performance optimization, post-offer employment testing, functional capacity evaluations, and ergonomic assessments.
