Job Duties:
- Obtain authorization as it applies to specific payor requirements
- Confirm patient insurance coverage to ensure therapy treatment is covered for new and established patients
- Understand and articulate information to the treating provider as needed
- Enter data such as insurance information into patient accounts accurately, timely, and completely
- Run daily and bi-weekly reports to prioritize status of authorizations for completion
- Protect PHI and follow HIPPA regulations
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain good rapport with the public, personnel, and clinical staff
- Participate in special projects involving front office quality assurance
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to type at least 40-45 words per minute
- Accurate data entry skills and detailed-oriented
- Must have computer and research skills
- Extensive knowledge of insurance type coverage and policies
- Knowledge of Revenue Cycle a plus
- Ability to work on multiple tasks at once
- Works well in a team environment
- Communicates well with the public and other personnel in a professional and courteous manner
- 2+ years of experience in insurance verification
