Description:

 

At Briotix Health, we put our focus in the Industrial and Occupational realm. We consider ourselves life-long-learners and educators. This opportunity is for healthcare students to participate in a fully immersive injury prevention experience as part of the Briotix Health’s Industrial Sports Medicine Academy (ISMAcademy). 

 

A day in the life of a student in the ISMAcademy will include using your clinical knowledge and our training to provide injury prevention, early symptom intervention, body mechanics coaching, and assistance with the overall health and wellness of the Working Athletes we serve. 

 

In this position the student will be directly supervised by a Certified Athletic Trainer or other similarly qualified professional working as an Industrial Sports Medicine Professional. The student will be expected to assist the ISM Mentor with proactive analysis of potential ergonomic risk factors, perform biomechanical assessments, and support injury prevention activities. This will be done by job coaching, ergonomic coaching, and individual engagements with employees. 

 

Core Duties: 

 

  • Learn and understand the job functions of client-site employees to engage in injury-prevention measures such as: ergonomic screens and musculoskeletal assessments 
  • Complete required internal training in a timely manner 
  • Assist with onsite care and management of work and non-work related discomforts and illnesses 
  • Act as an educator and advocate for the Working Athletes  
  • Assist the ISM Mentor and ISMAcademy team to continuously improve the program to best fit current needs 
  • Submit final student project at the end of the program 

 

Applicant Requirements: 

 

  • Active enrollment in an athletic training program with an institution in good standing with CAATE or similar academic program
  • Current CPR Certification CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, BLS Healthcare Provider; Bloodborne pathogen and HIPAA training 
  • Proof of liability insurance prior to start date 
  • Ability to pass a background check & drug screen 
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and have a problem-solving mindset  
  • Have reliable transportation and a clean driving record 
  • Must meet the physical demands of on-site work needs; ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and/or squatting *reasonable accommodations will be considered 
  • Post-selection requirements:
