    Briotix is hiring a part-time w/ benefits Safe Patient Handling & Mobility Specialist to provide training on Unit specific Safe Patient Handling equipment for staff at a client site located in Sacramento, CA.  The position requires 30 hours per week, Mon-Fri, standard office hours with an occasional need to provide service on a weekend day.

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Specialist (ATC or Ergonomist w/ clinical experience) is responsible for providing the resources for client site staff to become OSHA compliant in the domain of safe patient handling equipment use and their ability to assess mobility levels of the patients in their care. Responsibilities include providing training on BMAT (mobility assessment) and use of applications of available mobility equipment, regular availability to patient care areas to provide coaching and continually foster a “safe patient handling” environment; assisting in analysis of employee lifting injuries and providing recommendations for additional training, coordinating enhancements in interdisciplinary communication regarding safe patient handling and mobility; Developing safe patient handling collateral materials such as newsletters, tip sheets and equipment guides; collecting and compiling data on training records, employee lifting injuries, equipment location and inventory counts; tracking advances in lifting technology and making recommendations for staff; track SPH legislation and insure MC compliance.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Required: Bachelors Degree in related field - (ATC or Ergonomist w/ Clinical experience)
    • Active state license
    • Background in Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program development
    • Experience conducting Safe Patient Handling risk assessments, job site analysis, product evaluations, and injury prevention program development, implementation, and training
