The Company's clinics provide preventative and post-operative care for a variety of orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically-related injuries and rehabilitation of injured workers. In addition to owning and operating clinics, the Company manages physical therapy facilities for unaffiliated third parties, including hospitals and physician groups. USPh also provides onsite services for clients’ employees including injury prevention, rehabilitation, ergonomic assessments and performance optimization. We are seeking a highly energetic individual to join our exciting company as a Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant will report to the Director of Acquisitions. This role will be based in our West Houston, Texas corporate office. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accumulate/Analyze key financial accounts such as (but not limited to) salaries and related costs, rent, clinics supplies, and contract labor across all partnerships and regions, comparing to standards, budgets and forecast.
  • Assist with benchmarking, key performance indicators, and dashboards for measuring financial and operating performance.
  • Recommend staffing, operational and purchasing changes to increase profitability.
  • Assist with the budget process – will be involved in preparing budget templates as well as consolidating the budget information once completed on a regional basis. 
  • Prepare various weekly/monthly operational reports and deliver to executive management team after internal analysis.
  • Work with corporate team on month end close reporting, providing support and analysis on major variances.
  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.

 

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CMA or CPA desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of Cost Accounting
  • Prefer a strong cost systems background and excellent analytical skills
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Well organized, detail oriented, independent, highly motivated and ability to multi task
  • Strong self-starter with good communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains preferred)
